Design
We prototype mechanisms, evaluate tradeoffs, and turn game strategy into a practical robot design.
Almost Reliable Robotics is a student-led FTC team from ACCESS Academy. We design, build, program, and compete while learning what it takes to turn an idea into something that actually works.
We are Almost Reliable Robotics, an FTC team based at ACCESS Academy in Portland, Oregon. Our team combines engineering, programming, design, strategy, communication, and teamwork to compete in the FIRST Tech Challenge.
Our goal isn't just to make a robot. We want every season to leave us with better technical skills, stronger problem-solving abilities, and a better understanding of how to work together.
Every mechanism has a purpose. Every line of code has a job. Every test tells us something new.
We prototype mechanisms, evaluate tradeoffs, and turn game strategy into a practical robot design.
We machine, assemble, wire, and iterate until our ideas become reliable hardware.
Our software brings the robot to life through autonomous routines, driver control, and constant testing.
We bring everything together at events, work with alliance partners, and learn from every match.
This season challenges teams to think about a new kind of problem and build a robot capable of performing under pressure. We're designing our robot around fast cycles, dependable mechanisms, and a system we can keep improving throughout the season.

Robotics gives us a chance to share what we're learning with our community. We want to make engineering and programming feel approachable and exciting, especially for students who haven't had the opportunity to try them yet.
Sponsorship helps us pay for robot parts, electronics, tools, competition fees, travel, and outreach. Your support directly helps students get hands-on experience in STEM.
Become a SponsorWe can recognize sponsors on our robot, team materials, social media, and at competitions.
Sponsor logos can be added here as your team builds its partner list.
Whether you're interested in sponsoring the team, collaborating on outreach, mentoring students, or simply learning more about what we do, we'd love to hear from you.
